A Poem about ME

OK those of you that know me will understand why this poem could of been written about me...LOL

HECTOR THE COLLECTOR

by Shel Silverstein

Hector the Collector
Collected bits of string,
Collected dolls with broken heads
And rusty bells that would not ring.
Pieces out of picture puzzles,
Bent-up nails and ice-cream sticks,
Twists of wires, worn-out tires,
Paper bags and broken bricks.
Old chipped vases, half shoelaces,
Gatlin' guns that wouldn't shoot,
Leaky boats that wouldn't float
And stopped-up horns that wouldn't toot.
Butter knives that had no handles,
Copper keys that fit no locks,
Rings that were too small for fingers,
Dried-up leaves and patched-up socks.
Worn-out belts that had no buckles,
'Lectric trains that had no tracks,
Airplane models, broken bottles,
Three-legged chairs and cups with cracks.
Hector the Collector
Loved these things with all his soul‹
Loved them more than shining diamonds,
Loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,
"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people
Came and looked...and called it junk.

Stoppin' by to say "hi"

Thought it was about time I stopped in to say HI! We have been very busy here at Scrappin-n- Chattin, as well as in everyday life. I held my sale for 5 full days! With the help of some wonderful friends, Dianne, Annette, Janet, and Danielle it was a success. Thanks ladies I could not have done it without your help. I sold a lot of great items from my private Christmas collection. And in true Kathie fashion I am already buying more for next year’s sale.
November 2010!

Scrappin-n-Chattin is getting ready to bring in a new cardstock product line. Not sure if any of you have ever used the brand Paper Source, Jennifer and I have looked at a ton of different paper lines and this one seems to offer the best colors in 2 different textures. We will be placing an order hopefully before the end of the year. They also carry cute embellishments that we are hoping to carry at the Scrappin-n-Chattin mini-store.

I would like to thank all of my customers over the past year that have come to Scrappin-n- Chattin to create their memories of life.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2010!

Another Year Older....

Hi all, I have not forgotten about you. I have not had anything going on. Except... I did have a birthday. I got lots of well wishes on Facebook, received one birthday card via the snail mail (thanks Uncle Frank) got cards delivered in person (from Bill & Mary and AZ Barb & Louie) who also took me out to lunch. Thanks everyone who remembered my birthday!

Please make sure you schedule sometime to do some Scrappin-n-Chattin! The holidays are just around the corner, are your cards done? do you have gifts made? We have the space for you to make the mess here, instead of at your home.

REMEMBER: I am also here (by appointment) for shopping. As those of you you have been here know, I have a nice selection of photo albums, scrapbooking and card making supplies. As well as a wonderful assortment of Shabby Chic Boutique items, holiday and everyday décor. Gift certificates also available for anyone on your list who's a paper crafter or vintage shopper.

Hope everyone has a great Halloween don’t let the boogie man get you!

'til next time keep “Scrappin-n-Chattin”

Kathie

Tuesdays Free-Girls Night Out

I don’t know about you but the snow this morning really gave me a wake up call. I had started decorating the shop for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Then seeing the snow it got me into the holiday sprit and I started decorating for Christmas. We have some great holiday items— new, one-of-a-kind and vintage items. These items are too great not to share so I am having a Holiday Open House every Tuesday Night along with our GIRLS NIGHT OUT. Just stop in on Tuesday’s to make a free card, work on your scrapbook, holiday cards and shop. All in one place, that’s what I call one-stop-shopping!

Thinking about the Holidays led me to start thinking about gift giving and how to stay within a budget. We can offer you a cost effective solution so you can still bring small gifts to coworkers, your neighbors or everyone else on your list. You could make some great gifts for everyone by spending less, and have fun besides. We also offer Gift Certificates—available in any donation you need. We are a must stop for the holidays,

Inspiration is all around at our crafting GIRLS NIGHT OUT. Be sure to join us for creative fun, great chatting and more when we spend each Tuesday evening together working on our craft projects. Get a jump on the holidays by stamping your cards early, work on gifts for family and friends and just plain get inspired by amazing women that love to craft. Grab your bag of crafting fun whether it’s rubber stamping, scrapbooking, needlework, beading or quilting as there is room at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for whatever your craft is. Tuesday nights are FREE so bring a friend or come and make some new ones! You are welcome to bring your dinner or grab some fast food on the way (microwave and fridge are right in the kitchenette).

GIRLS NIGHT OUT is drop in style from 6-9pm. We can open earlier by just calling me or email me and let me know what time works best for you. Come once, come every time, or come as often as you can. We are excited to meet you! We always have a free make and take provided by Annette from The Angel Company. The link to her site is http://stampangel.blogspot.com . She has some great ideas for card making and gift giving that is budget friendly!

Here's the breakdown:

Girls Night Out

Monday Madness....and Window Classes

Monday Madness, is as crazy as it sounds once again I have another busy week. I ran some errands today, so stopped at my favorite thrift Store in New Hope…they have great vintage items, especially holiday decorations. Guess they are waiting another week or so before they have everything out. Today the pickings were slim. I did get some nice cookbooks, Thanksgiving decorations and some cute cards.

Last week-end I went to 4 Church Rummage sales. On Wednesday there were 2, one in the morning and another later in the afternoon. I scored at the first one, second one was ok. On Saturday, in Minneapolis I went to 2 more, again the first one was better than the second one. Sorry I do not have pictures to show you, one of these days I will figure out how to down load pictures, so you can see some of my wonderful treasures.

I am having a garage sale the next several Thursdays at 3911 Minnehaha Ave South Minneapolis. We open about 12:00 and close about 6:00. This is some of the items left from the estate sale I had been helping my friend Dianne’s with. They had the “big” sale 4 weeks ago, and now we have reduced prices, added some of my stuff and are opening just on Thursdays. Dianne’s family worked on empting the basement his past Sunday, so they will be having another “big” sale in the near future. I can’t wait to see what treasures they found when I get there this week. This house was FULL! Her moms shop was attached to her home, and she ran it for over 30 years. Her mother had a stroke, and had to move into Dianne’s sister home and now they are trying to liquidate all of the items in the house, and the house needs to be put on the market for sale.

At Scrappin~n~Chattin we are getting ready for the holidays, we have been getting the holiday merchandise ready to put out, I have been ironing aprons, hankies, and table linens, pulling out storage boxes of all of my holiday items, now I just have to put them out.

Remember we do sell gift certificates for working on projects and for merchandise. Add us to your wish list or give one of our certificates to the people on your gift list.

WINDOW CLASSES now being scheduled!!!

We have scheduled two Window Classes for December 4th one mid-morning and one in the evening. Please send me an email if you want to sign-up or for more information.
